The Guardian: Security in Iran is practicing violent methods to suppress the demonstrations

According to a press report by the British newspaper “The Guardian,” the Iranian security forces continue to use violent tactics against protesters in retaliation for the killing of a girl while she was being held captive by the Ethics Police. The Iranian authorities claim that this is a violation of the law.

The protests that broke out more than a month ago were in response to the killing of Mahasa, the 22-year-old girl, while she was being held by the authorities. The press reported that the security forces used tear gas during the confrontations with students of a school in Tehran after school officials attempted to search their mobile phones. since it was not donning the required veil.

According to the report, there were numerous video clips posted on social media that clearly showed security personnel surrounding the school while carrying a variety of weaponry, and one of these videos showed them using tear gas on the pupils.

The report continues by stating that protests against the murder of Mahasa have been taking place across Iran for about five weeks. It further mentions that human rights organisations believe that nearly 250 protesters died in clashes with security forces.
He continues by saying that girls and women make up the majority of the protesters because they burned their veils and removed them in an effort to voice their opposition to the Iranian regime’s practises in this area.

Human rights organisations’ estimates at the same time show that since the protests started, which started in the city of “Satis” in the northwest of the country, the hometown of the amino trainees, before spreading on a larger scale throughout Iran, the security forces in Iran have detained thousands of protesters.
