The Gulf Championship 25 championship will take place today, Tuesday, in Basra, in southern Iraq. The Grand Millennium Hotel will host the event, which will be attended by the eight competing teams.
The competition will take place in the southern city from January 6 to January 19 of next year. Eight teams will be split into two groups, with Iraq leading both. Bahrain won the last round.
The games will be held in Basra Governorate, Aqsa in southern Iraq, on the platforms of the palm tree and the harbour.
The Gulf Cup is organized once every two years, and the first edition of it was held in Bahrain in 1970, while Qatar hosted the last version in 2019, and Bahrain crowned the first title in its history.
While Iraq waited for more than forty years to host the championship for the second time in its history, after it hosted the championship for the first time in 1979 in the capital, Baghdad, at the International People’s Stadium and crowned the title of the fifth edition.
