(AP) LONDON — Message sending and receiving issues are being reported by users of the well-known communication software WhatsApp worldwide.
People began reporting issues at 3 a.m. EDT, according to Downdetector, which tracks outage complaints.
A spokeswoman for WhatsApp said the company is aware that some users are having problems sending messages and is working to swiftly restore service.
In 2014, Meta, formerly Facebook, acquired WhatsApp.
Particularly outside of the United States, where many people use it for daily communication, it is extremely well-liked.
WhatsApp users experience issues sending and receiving messages.
