Police respond to reports of up to ‘500 people fighting’ in Mississauga, Ont.

Police say they responded to reports of a fight involving up to 500 people on Monday in Mississauga, Ontario.
According to a tweet from Peel Regional Police, they were called to complaints of a brawl at around 9:41 p.m. in Mississauga near Goreway and Etude drives.
400 to 500 people were reportedly fighting in a neighbourhood parking lot, according to accounts obtained by police.

Peel police were unsure as to whether the setting off of fireworks in a mall parking lot was the cause of the confrontation, but they did confirm it to Global News. There have been no detentions.
At the scene, paramedics evaluated one male patient, according to the police.
The tweet claims that things have subsequently “calmed down.”
