The American Coast Guard returns more than 300 immigrants to Cuba during the past 3 days

319 immigrants from Cuba who were detained at sea over the weekend were returned by American Coast Guard personnel.
The Coast Guard reported stopping 185 Cubans on Friday, 94 Cubans on Saturday, and 40 Cubans on Sunday, according to the American daily “The Hill,” bringing the total number of Cubans stopped since October 1 to 921.

This news comes at a time when thousands of Cubans seek to leave Al -Jazeera, which is going through the deepest economic crisis since the so -called special period after the dissolution of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s.
Historically, Cubans travelled to the United States by boat, but economic, diplomatic, and political factors have transformed those migration patterns.

Over the previous three days, the American Coast Guard has sent over 300 immigrants back to Cuba.
