The strike of university employees in Britain due to salaries and pensions

The union representing university staff in Britain stated that the polling results give them the right to strike, which is a blatant sign of the ire that workers feel against pay and benefits.
The Universities Union called for more than 70,000 university employees in 150 universities after union members voted in favor of the procedure, according to the British newspaper “Evening Standard”.

The Union of Workers in Universities and Institutes, which represents a large number of academics, lecturers, researchers, directors, administrators and other employees, also called on university departments to enter into negotiations to avoid disturbances.
According to Jo Jaradi, secretary-general of the Federation, “We have achieved history today by our members in universities, who have been presented in great numbers for an unprecedented mandate for the strike.”

There are currently 150 heads of universities for 70,000 university employees who are prepared to shut down the entire industry if meaningful negotiations do not begin soon, the speaker continued.
He emphasised that faculty and staff at universities make it plain that they would not accept increases in pay or attacks on pensions.

The union demanded that pay be increased by 12% in addition to an additional 2% in order to keep up with inflation and address the union’s claim that university employees are struggling to make ends meet.

British university employees went on strike over pay and pensions.
