The dirty bomb .. The atomic agency searches two sites in Ukraine

In a clear response to Russian charges that Ukraine may detonate the ‘dirty bomb,’ which Ukraine rejects, the International Atomic Energy Agency stated that it is arranging to deploy inspectors to two Ukrainian facilities in the coming days at Kyiv’s request.

The International Atomic Energy Agency issued a statement saying, “The International Atomic Energy Agency is aware of the statements made by the Russian Federation on Sunday regarding alleged activities in two nuclear sites in Ukraine,” adding that both sites are currently being searched and that one of them was searched a month ago.

The Russian Ministry of Defense declared in its daily publication that Ukraine had “reached the final stage of manufacturing this bomb,” despite repeated denials from Western nations, and warned that if it went off, radioactive materials may envelop Poland.
She added that radioactive materials would disperse in the atmosphere to a distance of up to 1500 kilometres if the “dirty bomb” detonated.

In response, Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin’s spokesman, emphasised that the threat from Ukraine regarding the “dirty bomb” is genuine.
According to the Russian Sputnik, he also thought that “it is up to the West if they wanted to believe it or not.”
However, the United States, Britain, and France reiterated in a joint statement their denial of these accusations and issued a warning to Moscow not to use any pretext to escalate the confrontation.

Fears of the conflict and its crimes have increased since the beginning of the Russian military operation on Ukrainian territory on February 24. This is especially true after Russian President Vladimir Putin hinted to the potential of deploying the atomic bomb in a speech broadcast on September 21.
