The young English midfielder Joud Bellingham is currently playing for Borussia Dortmund in Germany, according to Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola, who notes that Bellingham’s time in England may have hampered his development.
Bellingham left the Birmingham club where he grew up two years ago in order to transfer to the Segenal Idona Park stadium, but did not follow Jadon Sancho, who declined to sign a new contract with City and joined Dortmund in 2017.
Bellingham scored a goal against Manchester City during their Champions League group round matchup.
Guardiola believes that Pelingham would not have had the same opportunities if he was in the ranks of Manchester or the Premier League top team.
“I believe Borussia Dortmund is the ideal environment for developing young talent; possibly Jude Pellingham would play for City, United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, or Tottenham if he were in England; perhaps he would not have had the same number of playing minutes.
“He was seventeen when he arrived, but it’s not only about his ability and the way he was driving, and it’s not just about how to pay him to the ball or handle the ruling.
