The occupation signs “demarcation” with Lebanon on Thursday … and Syria is postponed

News from Al-Madinah: While the Syrian dictatorship opted to cancel the visit by a group from Beirut, Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid said that the maritime border demarcation deal, in which the United States has mediated with Lebanon, will be signed on Thursday.
“On Thursday, we will sign a historic agreement with Lebanon.

Regarding the deal that the United States mediated in this matter, Labid stated at the beginning of his meeting with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Route that Israel will soon become a significant gas resource for Europe.
It is assumed that the American Energy File, Amos Hakshttein, will arrive in Beirut this week, carrying a copy of the maritime border demarcation agreement with the Israeli occupation, to be signed by Lebanese officials.

The agreement, which was praised by the three parties as a historic achievement, represents a huge diplomatic turning point after a war and hostility over decades, and it will open the door for energy exploration off the coast of both parties as soon as it enters into force.
Israeli Prime Minister Yair Labid referred to the accord as “historic” when Aoun announced Lebanon’s approval of the agreement to demarcate the maritime border with Israel on October 13.

On the other hand, a diplomatic source informed Reuters on Monday that the Syrian regime government has postponed a trip to Damascus by a Lebanese delegation to talk about the marking of the two nations’ maritime borders.
The source further stated that Damascus informed the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday that the time was not suitable for such a visit.

Prior to this, President Michel Aoun spoke over the phone with Bashar al-Assad, the head of the Syrian government, and they addressed bilateral ties as well as the issue of the maritime border demarcation.
Aoun and Al -Assad agreed to form official delegations from the ministries and official departments in the two countries, to hold meetings in Beirut and Damascus in order to quickly reach an agreement.

Presidents of Lebanon and Syria emphasised that “discussions on the boundary delineation file would take place without any mediator and that what the two parties agree upon will be established as a treaty between two countries.”

” And they considered that the Lebanese-Syrian discussions “should not be similar in any case to what happened with Israel, not in terms of the presence of an American mediator or the need for international or international guarantees, nor to indirect negotiation. ”
