The election of Rishi Sonak as party leader and prime minister to replace Liz Treis, who had earlier resigned, was made official by the chairman of the Conservative Party committee.
Mourtun withdrew from the race to the leadership of the British Conservative Party after it failed to collect enough votes of the party’s deputies, as reports reported only 25 votes, while Sonak collected the voices of 194 deputies.
Later, in front of Sonak, Mordnet acknowledged her loss in the race to Downing Street.
Benny Mordont said in a statement, “We have now determined who will be our future prime minister. This decision is a historic decision and once again highlights the diversity of our party and skill.
She added: “Rishi has my full support, we are all owe to the country and for Rishi to unite and work together for the good of the nation, there is a lot of work that must be done.
Sonak withdrew from the polls in the recent hours, particularly following the resignation of former prime minister Boris Johnson.
A terrace resigned on Thursday after 45 days turned into the position, admitting that she could not provide an inexpensive economic package to reduce taxes, which she had to abandon after she had anger inside her party and led to disturbances in the financial markets for weeks.
Sonak, who served as the Treasury Secretary from 2020 to this summer, led the declining economy during the Corona virus. He resigned in July in opposition to the Johnson administration.
