Lavrov: We asked the United Nations statistics on the movement of Ukrainian pills in the framework of the deal

Sergey Lavrov, the foreign minister of Russia, declared that his country had enquired of the United Nations Secretariat Statistics regarding the ultimate receivers of the wheat transported from Ukrainian ports as part of the food agreement.
He noted that the United Nations figures paint a very inconsistent image with regard to “the end destination for the arrival of each of these ships carrying grains.

“The poorest countries, which were the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ main concern when they presented their idea, reached 5-6-7% of the size of the grains that are exported from the Ukrainian ports, while half of it reaches almost all the European Union countries, he emphasised, citing international data.

According to the Russian minister, when Moscow brings up the General Secretariat of the United Nations, “they refer to the fact that European countries offer the following interpretation: They say: Yes, we receive most Ukrainian pills, but then it will be distributed around the world, including for the poorest countries.”

“We want to have a clearer picture, therefore we requested the UN Secretariat in charge of this procedure, which has all the data in this regard, to provide information on the transit of grains to the ultimate location where the final consumer is,” continued Lavrov. This depends on that adjustment and is more than just a curiosity. And rerouting the upcoming tasks to complete the grain transaction.

“The second half of the grain agreement,” he continued, “is nearly not executed, especially the export of Russian grains and fertilisers. He explained that it is necessary that there be “clear legal exceptions of sanctions” for Russian companies, as well as guarantees for free entry of Russian ships to European ports and procedures to Russian ports, which greatly affects the free export of Russian grains.

The minister confirmed that the Bank of Ross Silkhozbank sanctions, a significant financial institution that supports the export of our grains and our fees to international markets, are one of the key difficulties in this situation.
Added him: “We’ve got a tonne of work. Next November, the agreement expires. We start from the assumption that before considering the issue of its extension, all the issues mentioned will be resolved in a satisfactory way. “.

Lavrov: We requested statistics from the UN on the flow of Ukrainian pharmaceuticals as part of the agreement.
