Russia: 52 forest fires extinguished in a day

The Russian forest firefighting department destroyed 52 natural fires that extended over 265 hectares in one day today, Sunday.
In a statement cited by Russia Today, the agency claimed that on Saturday, 52 forest fires were doused, spanning an area of 265 hectares, and that by midnight today, 90 fires had been controlled and extinguished, spanning an area of 102,883 hectares.

He said that the Republic of Yakutia had the most flames, with seven spreading across an area of 80,889 hectares.
