Lavrov: The continued grain agreement depends on the clarifications of the United Nations on consumers

Sergey Lavrov, the foreign minister of Russia, stated today, Monday, that his nation had requested information from the UN regarding the uses of grain exports and the nations that consumed it.
Lavrov’s remarks come after the Ukrainian government, according to Al-Arabiya.net News, accused Russia of impeding the Black Sea Ceiling Agreement’s implementation and called for its renewal.

Lavrov stated that the United Nations’ clarifications on consumers are necessary for the maintenance of the grain accord.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Infrastructure said in a statement via the Telegram application, on Sunday, that “Russia deliberately impeded the full implementation of the grain initiative, and as a result, the Ukrainian ports employed only 25 to 30%of their energy a few days ago.

In a related context, a United Nations spokesman said on Monday, “There is a lot that must be done” to solve the problem of accumulating more than 150 ships in a grain shipping deal across the Black Sea.
“There are currently more than 150 ships waiting for Istanbul to move, and this delay is likely to disrupt the supply chain and port works,” said Asmini Pala.

The agreement, in which the United Nations and Turkey, which last July, paved the way for Ukraine to resume grain exports from the ports overlooking the Black Sea, which has been closed since the Russian invasion.
Moscow has secured assurances for its exports of grains and fertiliser.

Lavrov: The United Nations’s consumer-related explanations will determine whether the grain deal is maintained.
