After achieving a thrilling 2/1 victory over its host, Real Betis, today, Sunday, in the eleventh stage of the competition, which also saw Espanyol draw 2/2 with its visitor Elchi, the Atletico Madrid team recovered the tone of the victories that had been missing from it in the previous stage of the Spanish League.
Atletico’s balance, which tied with Rayo Vicano in the last stage of the tournament, rose to 23 points, to advance to third in the competition ranking, outperforing 3 points on Betis, fifth place.
The Frenchman Antoine Griezmann played the match’s hero after scoring Atletico’s goals in the 54th and 71st minutes, respectively. All three of the game’s goals were scored in the second half.
