News from Al-Madinah: The Russian Ministry of Defense issued a warning on Sunday over what it called “Kyiv provocations” in light of the ongoing Russian-Ukrainian conflict and growing international concerns about any lapse toward the use of nuclear weapons.
According to Sputnik, Defense Secretary Sergey Shoigu reviewed the situation in Ukraine with his French counterpart Sebastian Lecorno over the phone and expressed his belief that the Ukrainian government is always aiming for an unchecked escalation.
Shoigo also expressed his concerns about possible Ukrainian provocations, including the use of a “dirty bomb”, in reference to the low -power nuclear weapon, or perhaps the possibility of hitting a water dam in Jiusson that may plunge the entire city, in order to blame the Russian forces.
Lecorno emphasised Paris’ desire for a peaceful resolution to the issue.
Additionally, Shoigo alerted Wallace and Khulusi Akar in separate conversations about the “dirty bomb” and warned his British counterpart about any Ukrainian provocations.
These statements came after the Novosti agency quoted sources described as reliable in different countries, including Ukraine, that “there are indications of preparing Kyiv provoking by using a dirty bomb or low -strength nuclear weapons.
It is noteworthy that since the beginning of the Russian military operation on Ukrainian territory on February 24, concerns about the conflict and its escalation have reached unbelievable heights, particularly after Russian President Vladimir Putin hinted at the possibility of using the atomic bomb in a speech broadcast on September 21.
Then, in a statement that many Western analysts took as a threat to use tactical nuclear weapons against the West, he emphasised that he was prepared to employ “all measures” available to him in his arsenal.
