Dramatically winning the Malaysia Grand Prix of Motorcycle Award (Moto GB) on Sunday, Italian Franchisco Pania moved closer to winning the World Championship.
Bania finished the race in 40: 14. 332 minutes, finishing ahead of his fellow countryman and teammate Inia Bastianini by 0. 270 seconds.
If his French adversary Fabio Quartarrao finished the race outside the coronation platform today, Bania would win the World Motorcycle Championship title in Malaysia, but that did not occur because Karazaro finished third.
But before the final race of the current season, which will take place in Valencia, Spain, in two weeks, Bania, the driver for the “Ducati” team, has pulled ahead of Karazaro by 23 points.
With only 25 points remaining for the Valencia race, Quarterro must win the last 2022 races in the hopes that Banana will finish fifteenth or worse to preserve the Frenchman’s world championship lead.
