Following the resignation of Prime Minister Liz Tarras during an economic crisis, the former British Treasury Secretary Rishi Sonak declared today, Sunday, that he intends to run for both the Conservative Party leadership and the position of Prime Minister.
According to a statement made by Sonak, in addition to bringing the party together, he wanted to help guide the nation’s economy out of its most difficult periods.
He pointed out that he has a history of success, professionalism and accountability, and that he will work tirelessly to accomplish the task, calling on the party members to give him the opportunity to solve problems and lead the party and the country until the next general elections.
It is interesting to note that six weeks ago, Rishi Sonak narrowly lost the election to former prime minister Liz Tarras.
