Xi Jinping won today, Sunday, in an unprecedented third term as the leader of the Chinese Communist Party, a step that would legally establish it at the helm of the nation for a new term in March 2023.
According to the official press agency, his term as the party’s secretary-general was extended for another five years following a vote procedure in a private meeting at the end of a general conference held every five years.
Following his re-election, Genbing vowed to reporters in remarks delivered from the People’s Palace in Beijing that he would “work hard to fulfil the party’s goals and accomplish duties,” emphasising that the entire world needs China.
He also expressed gratitude to “all members of the confidence that I look towards him.”
