Green Bay, Wisconsin (AP) – For the second week in a row, Packers quarterback Jordan Love and rookie fourth-round selection Romeo Doubs connected on a touchdown throw. The Packers’ Danny Etling scored on a 51-yard keeper.
Green Bay’s Shawn Davis returned a mishandled kick by Saints QB Ian Book 37 yards to set up Ramiz Ahmed’s 45-yard field goal. Micah Abernathy’s diving interception of Book’s ball stopped the Saints’ following possession.
With reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers sitting out Green Bay’s first two games, the Packers have had a chance to get a closer look at Love.
In a 28-21 loss to the San Francisco 49ers last week, the 2020 first-round selection from Utah State went 13 of 24 for 176 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions, but one of the interceptions bounced off Tyler Davis’ hands and another came after a defensive back stripped the ball from Doubs.
Love avoided any turnovers while playing into the fourth quarter on Friday. In the second quarter, he put the Packers up for good with a 4-yard throw to Doubs, who made a leaping grab over New Orleans’ Brian Allen.
With 8:20 remaining, Etling took over for Love and scored on a 51-yard run around the right end.

Tyler Goodson, an undrafted free agent from Iowa, had 10 carries for 42 yards and a 10-yard reception for Green Bay.
Christian Watson, a Packers wide receiver, took part in pregame warmups but was not allowed to play. The North Dakota State second-round selection underwent knee surgery following organized team activities and was activated from the physically unable to perform list on Sunday.
