The Special Representative of the Secretary -General of the United Nations in Libya, Abdullah Patelli, stressed, during a meeting with the commander of the National Army, Khalifa Haftar, on Saturday, the importance of uniting security and military institutions in the country.
On Twitter, the UN mission in Libya noted that Patelli had also emphasised the value of upholding the ceasefire agreement at the Benghazi conference.

Patelli reaffirmed the support of the UN for a “sustainable” solution to bring peace and stability to Libya under the direction of the Libyan people.
The joint military committee 5+5 met with the UN representative and his delegation, according to a brief statement posted on “Facebook” by the General Command of the Libyan Armed Forces.

Later, the UN mission reported that it had been verified in a subsequent meeting with Prime Minister Fathi Pashaga, who is in charge of the Parliament, that the only way to end the issue is to bring the Libyans together to find a Libyan solution.
Patelli reaffirmed his commitment to helping Libya resolve its political deadlock in order to achieve peace and stability, as did the United Nations.

Meeting Pashaga and Haftar, the UN ambassador emphasises the need for all security institutions to work together.
