By crowning the Sultanate of Oman in the AFC Cup on Saturday following its triumph over its host, Kuala Lumpur City, Malaysian, by a score of 3-0 at the National Pokette Galilee, the Al-Seeb Club gave it the first continental trophy in its history.

Ali Al-Busaidi scored the winning goal in the 22nd minute off a direct corner kick that the goalkeeper mishandled. The other goals came from Abdel Aziz Al-Maqbali in the 37th minute off a header inside the box following a Salah Al-Yahyai cross, and Mohsen Al-Ghassani in the 69th minute when he evaded the defence and fired a powerful left shot from a tight angle

Al-Seib joined the list of champions alongside the Iraqi Air Force (3 championships), ahead of the Jordanian Al-Faisaly and the Bahraini Al-Muharraq (2).
After the AFC Champions League, the AFC Cup is the second club competition on the continent. It was first played in 2004 and was won by the Syrian army.

Al-Seeb, who competed in the championship for the first time, received the first group ranking after two wins over Jableh Al-Suri (1-0), the Lebanese crowd (4-0), and a loss to Kuwaiti Kuwait (1-2) in the first round.
Al-Seeb defeated Al-Arabi Al-Kuwaiti 2-1 in the West Asian region’s semi-finals following the extended in Kuwait, and then defeated Bahrain’s Riffa 4-0 in the final.
