Meloni takes the constitutional oath as the first woman to head the government in Italy

News from Al-Madinah: Following her performance on Saturday and the support of her constitutional government’s members, Georgia Meloni became the first woman to fill the office of prime minister in Italy since the end of World War II.
In a coalition of conservative groups that included the League of Matteo Salvini and the Italian Furza party led by Silvio Berlusconi, Meloni, 45, commanded the National Party of the Italian brothers and won the elections last month.

A national unity administration led by Mario Dragi, a former president of the European Central Bank, was replaced by the Melonian government. It must overcome a number of difficult obstacles, including the impending recession, rising energy costs, and the need to unite against the war in Ukraine.

Despite Meloni’s offer of support for Ukraine, Berlusconi has weakened the situation. Last week, he said that Kiev was to blame for the conflict and admitted that he had long-standing presents and “soft communications” with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

After mostly tension conversations and took place behind the scenes over a few days, Meloni announced the names of her government members on Friday and assigned five ministries for each of the smaller partners in her coalition, Forza and the League, and kept nine ministries of her party.
The other 24 government employees, including only six women, are all involved in technology.
