Global Health: 500 million people have suffered heart disease and obesity as a result of inactivity

The World Health Organization’s director general, Tedros Adhanum Gibrissus, stated, “We hope that countries and partners will use this report to build more active, healthy and fair societies for all,” noting the potential financial burden of inactivity and the expense of treating new cases of non-infectious diseases, which could reach nearly 300 billion US dollars by 2030, or about 27 billion US dollars annually, if it is not prevented.
