The American Federal International Trade Committee reviewed the commercial fees imposed on some types of steel products from Russia, and a number of other countries, and decided to keep them, according to “Russia Today”.
The steel fees were retained from Australia, Britain, the Netherlands, South Korea, Turkey, and Japan, according to a statement the committee released on Friday.
Raising the barriers to combat dumping in the steel industry “would probably result in harm,” according to the committee, to American business.
At the same time, the committee decided to raise the fees on steel from Brazil, as it considered that its supplies would not harm the American economy..
The American government maintains commercial tariffs on Russian steel.
