Al -Duba rejects the Mashri and Saleh Agreement .. “unacceptable”

The most recent agreement between the leaders of the Parliament, Aqila Saleh, and the Supreme Council of State, Khaled Al-Mashri, who is to consolidate the executive branch and distribute sovereign positions in the nation before next year, was rejected, according to Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Al-Dubba of the National Unity Government in Libya.

In an article he posted on his Twitter page on Friday night, Al-Dubaiba stated that “the heads of Parliament and the State Council must accelerate the adoption of a constitutional base that ends the problem regarding the elections,” adding that “talking about parallel paths such as sharing sovereign positions is no longer acceptable.

Khaled Al-Mashri, the head of the Supreme Council of State, responded to Al-stance Dubba’s by writing on his Twitter page that “the head of the National Unity Government must stop selling fantasies to the public and he must offer treatment for oncology patients.” Al-Duba “has nothing to do with what is neither his competence nor his powers,” he said, inviting him to focus solely on his task.

In light of the political and military parties in Tripoli’s capital city’s rejection of this agreement, this contrast in opinions draws attention to potential obstacles to its implementation or the commitment between Mashri and Saleh. These obstacles could include shifting the executive’s authority or allocating sovereign positions.

Due to differing opinions on the methods, techniques, and standards for choosing and allocating these posts, as well as the names proposed to fill these sovereign seats, the sovereign position is one of the most contentious topics among Libyan politicians.

The Mashri and Saleh Agreement is deemed “unacceptable” by Al-Duba.
