Emmanuel Macron, the French President, revealed that his phone contact with Russian President Vladimir Putin was regarding the security of Ukraine’s nuclear plants.
I merely talked with Russian President Vladimir Putin a few hours ago in order to get security guarantees on the atomic energy plants in Ukraine, Macron said on Friday during celebrations marking France’s liberation from the Nazis during World War II.
It is worth noting that Macron spoke with Putin for the first time since May 28.
The Kremlin said in a statement released after the phone chat that Putin and Macron discussed the significance of sending an IAEA delegation to the Zaporozhye facility in southern Ukraine.
The Ukrainian bombardment of the Zaporozhye station creates hazards and may result in a huge calamity, Putin warned.
