Kingston, Ont. man faces fine for careless use of firearm while hunting

A Kingston man was fined $7,000 by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources for negligently using his handgun while hunting in October 2018.
The investigation revealed that Larry Hollister shot his rifle at a dog and its owner as well as his own hunting partner while looking for moose on a logging road between Ear Falls and Red Lake in northwest Ontario close to the Manitoba border, according to the MNR. Hollister was subsequently found guilty, they claim.

During the incident, nobody was hurt.
At the end of August, the case was heard in a courthouse in Kenora, Ontario.
Hollister was also barred from hunting for two years..
