Messi hints to retract the international retirement after the 2022 World Cup

After earlier declaring that the World Cup in Qatar is the final World Cup he will compete with his country, Argentine football legend Lionel Messi has hinted that he will end his international retirement and return to the Tango team after the following World Cup.

“I feel a great physical improvement at the present better than last year when I arrived in Paris, before I said that this is the last World Cup, I mentioned this because of a logical age problem, but after the World Cup ends We’ll see what will happen,” said Messi in a conversation with the Argentine Directv Sports channel.

“Sometimes I would like to be 25 years old and resume my career, I love the competition and have been among the best for many years, but the most important thing is the quality of your person, and what you do outside the field since I was a child, the most important thing in my life is my family,” Messi continued.
Messi fessed up, “There was a discussion about me playing for Spain, but I ultimately chose Argentina.

Messi discussed how Argentina’s opening World Cup match against Iceland ended in a draw (1-1) and how things would have gone differently if he had converted the penalty. Messi also discussed his World Cup performance overall.

In his own words, Messi said, “The first World Cup match, the first 15 minutes, anxiety, nerves, for everything that happened to reach that match, then give up on you, but the first match is very important and gives you peace of mind. I have always said that if I turned the penalty kick (against Iceland) and we started winning, everything would be different, so it is important to be the beginning.

After the 2022 World Cup, Messi may reconsider his decision to retire from international competition.
