Chad .. At least 50 people were killed in light of the prohibition of protests against the government

At least 50 people were killed in Chad on Thursday, as hundreds of people defied a prohibition on rallies by taking to the streets of the capital, Anjamena, to express their disapproval of the military interim government’s failure to transfer power to civil rule.

According to the German news agency’s (dpa) correspondent in the city, the police fired tear gas to disperse the protest in Anjamena. Around 300 people were hurt, the prime minister claimed during a press conference today evening.
Some protesters put up obstacles and burnt tyres of cars.
Three tiny villages have reportedly been observed, according to reports. In his remarks, Kabzabo mentioned a military insurrection that the security forces ought to have put an end to.

adding a curfew from six in the morning till midnight (2300 and 0500 GMT).
The African Union denounced violence and mentioned the fatalities without giving an exact figure.
The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs made a statement in which it mentioned “the use of fatal weapons against the demonstrators” without providing any other details.
Additionally, France denied having any part in what transpired in Chad.

There are rumours that the interim president has France’s support, notably on social media.
When the head of the provisional military council, Mohamed Idris Deby, predicted that it would take two more years for civilians to take over, protests broke out. Deby had just now taken the oath of office.

The council took over the rule of Chad after the death of President Idriss Deby, 68, in April 202, as a result of wounding he sustained during the inspection of his forces in the north, where gunmen had launched an attack to overthrow his regime since 1990.
At the time, it was planned that the council would rule the nation for 18 months before elections.

Chad .. Due to the ban on rallies against the government, at least 50 people died.
