Press reports revealed that the former Real Madrid star Gareth Bale and the current American Los Angeles player in participating in the next World Cup for the first time in his career may end due to the injury.
Next month, the 33-year-old captain of Wales was expected to guide his nation to its first world championship since 1958.
Gareth Bale suffered an injury just four weeks before Wales’ World Cup opener against the United States of America, according to the English daily “Sun.”
Bell’s injury prevented him from playing in Thursday’s 3-2 Los Angeles triumph against his local rival Los Angeles Galaxy, so he watched the game from the stands.
Since his initial appearance in July, he has participated in 12 games with his new squad, but only two of those games saw him make an important contribution.
Before his contract with Real Madrid expired in the summer, Bell spent nine years there and five times won the Champions League. He also played in just seven games in his final campaign with Los Blancos.
