The investigation into the conditions, circumstances, and flaw that followed a tragedy—the sinking of a boat the width of the coast of Gerges—was continued by Tunisian President Qais Said during his meeting with Minister of Justice, Laila Jafal.

The president of Tunisia reaffirmed his ongoing investigation into this case and other cases, the requirement that investigations proceed in accordance with the law, and the fact that there is no room for excluding anyone because everyone is subject to the law.

On the other hand, President Qais Saeed stressed the need for the Public Prosecution to play its full role in filling the cases against those who took advantage of their jobs and exerted pressure on citizens to collect zakat for the elections of the members of the People’s Assembly scheduled for next December 17.
According to a statement from the Republic’s Presidency, the meeting’s topic was the general state of work in the judicial authorities.

The Gerges boat sinking and election fraud are being investigated by the Minister of Justice, under the direction of the president of Tunisia.
