Drilling the longest well in the world within the “Zakum Alawi” concession in the Emirates

The longest oil and gas drill ever registered a new world record today, according to the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), which is located in the “Zakum Alawi” concession.
The well extends for a distance of 50 thousand feet and increases the record for the longest well in the world announced in 2017 by about 800 feet, and supports “ADNOC” efforts to raise its production capacity from oil and gas resources to contribute to meeting the growing global energy.

The new well was drilled by ADNOC Drilling from the artificial “ADNOC ADNOC” island of “Umm Al-Anbar.”
This ground-breaking engineering feat is a part of the extensive excavation project that “ADNOC Naval” devised and is overseeing in collaboration with its international strategic partners in the “Zakum Al-Alawi” field, including Exxon Mobil and Enbes/Jodko.

The wells being drilled have the potential to increase the “Zakum” field’s production capacity by about 15,000 barrels of oil per day without the need for any additional infrastructure or field expansion. They do this by utilising excavation technology that reaches into the enormous reservoir that makes up the “Zakum” field.

On this occasion, Abd al -Rahman Abdullah al -Sayari, CEO of ADNOC Drilling Company, said: “This exceptional achievement, which is to achieve a record in digging the longest well due to the efforts of“ ADNOC for drilling ”to raise the operational efficiency of its customers in its continuous endeavor to enhance and increase the value of the shareholders. Additionally, it shows the dedication.

‘ADNOC for drilling’ by lowering operating expenses and aiding in ‘ADNOC’s’ pursuit of increasing its oil and gas production capacity.

This historic accomplishment, he continued, “confirms the commitment of ADNOC drilling cadres and their efforts and their work in the spirit of one team to contribute to the consolidation of the status and role of the company as a responsible presenter for drilling services, and its success in achieving the maximum benefit of advanced drilling technologies, including extended potholes and horizontal and directed drilling.

“One of the four man-made “Zakum” fields that utilises a centre for drilling and maritime activities is “Umm Al-Anbar.”
The CEO of ADNOC Navy, Ahmed Saqr Al-Suwaidi, said: “ADNOC continues to work to advance the march of growth and development, enhance value, and lessen the environmental impact of its operations on the basis of its leadership in the innovative use of artificial islands and its extensive experience in global drilling operations.

In the interest of the UAE, our partners, and customers throughout the world, we will keep working to increase our engineering capabilities through collaboration with our important international partners.

In comparison to conventional methods that call for a lot of equipment and marine infrastructure, it is noteworthy that the “ADNOC Marine” company has developed methods of working on artificial islands that have a significant value in terms of cost efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of operations.
