Germany urges the European Union to find new gas fields

In order to comply with the Paris Agreement to mitigate the consequences of climate change, Germany asked the European Union to locate new natural gas fields elsewhere.
Berlin intends to incorporate this demand in the preliminary conclusions of the European Union leaders’ summit held in the Belgian capital of Brussels on Thursday and Friday, according to a report from (Politicio) published today, Thursday.

The European Union states and the European Commission must “engage with countries that have the ability to develop new gas fields, as part of the requirements of the Paris Climate Agreement,” according to the German side’s addition to the summit’s draught outcomes.

Germany requests that the EU find new gas fields.
