Japanese national team captain Maya Yoshida is certain that his squad can defeat Germany on November 23 in their opening game of the Qatar World Cup.
In an interview with the newspaper “Yariuri Shimbon today,” Yoshida, a defender for the German team Schalke, stated that “the possibility to win is never zero.”
“Yoshida, who spent the majority of his career in important European leagues like the English Premier League and the Italian League, further stated that “the first match is difficult for each team.”
He stated that his nation’s objective for the World Cup in Qatar is to be one of the top eight teams, referring to the game against Germany as “the secret to getting there.
