Egypt’s culture min. re-launches 6th Golden Voice competition, introduces grand prize

CAIRO – 20 October 2022: Egypt’s Minister of Culture Nevine el-Kilani decided to revive the 6-year-old Golden Voice competition, sponsored by the sector of Cultural Development Fund, in support of the Egyptian government’s initiatives to improve public taste and support young singers across the country.

Kilani also oversaw the creation of a grand prize for the competition bearing the name of the late legendary singer Mohsen Farouk in honour of his contributions to defending Egypt’s musical identity and heritage, his role in establishing the competition, and his status as a member of the first generation of the Arab Music Ensemble at the Egyptian Opera House.

The application period for the competition will run from October 20 to November 20, according to Fathi Abdel Wahab, the sector head for the Cultural Development Fund.

Egypt’s culture ministry announces the big prize and relaunches the sixth Golden Voice competition.
