Since it originates to the sixth century BC, Al-Tawiyah is one of the largest ancient Chinese faiths that is still practised today. Its central tenet is the idea of returning to normal life.
Lao Tsa, who is said to have been born in 507 BC, is credited with creating the Taoism doctrine, some of which pertain to a trying period. Confucius met Lao Tsa and learned from him while also disagreeing with him on other matters.
Al-Tawiyah persisted for about 2000 years, influencing changes in Chinese historical theory.
Xuang Tsu, who dates back to the fourth and third century BC, appeared claiming that Lao Tsi was one of the heavenly teachers, and he also explained his teacher’s book, Lotsi, adding to him something of his philosophy.
The Great Peace Movement helped popularise Taoism in the second century after its inception, while the Han Dynasty’s separation of China into three distinct regions in 220 AD had an impact on the regional theological disparities that existed between the Chinese.
The new Taoism emerged in the third and fourth centuries AD with the downfall of the Han family.
