Ukrainian forces confirm the destruction of 223 Iranian drones since mid -September

While Tehran has frequently denied in recent days that it would give Russia weapons and aircraft to attack Ukraine, the Ukrainian Air Force disclosed on Wednesday that it had destroyed 223 drones built in Iran since mid-September.
“The Air Force Air Force and other components of the defensive forces have destroyed 223 drones of this type since the discharge of the first Iranian-made, making-based-136-style plane on Ukrainian territory on September 13 in Kopangsk,” he said to Telegram.

After gathering “sufficient evidence” that Iran supplies Russia’s lethal planes for use in Ukraine, the European Union is seeking to impose further sanctions on the country, according to a spokesperson for the group on Wednesday.
Nabila Masrya, a spokesperson for the European Union Foreign Policy Coordinator Josep Borrell, stated that “now that we have acquired sufficient information, work in the European Council for a clear, swift, and robust response from the European Union.”

In defiance of UN Security Council resolutions, the Ukrainian government invited UN specialists to examine what it claims are Iranian drones that Russia employs to attack Ukrainian targets.
Reuters said that the United States, Britain and France are planning to raise the issue of transferring Iranian weapons to Russia during a closed UN Security Council meeting on Wednesday.

On Monday, Russia fired a large number of suicide bombers at Ukraine, which attacked the country’s energy infrastructure and killed 5 people in the city of Kyiv.
Ukraine claims that the drones are Iranian-made, and on Tuesday it took action to sever its ties with Iran over the use of these aircraft.
Russian reliance on drones produced in Iran to attack Ukrainian targets, according to Ukrainian President Foludmir Zellinski, is evidence that Moscow has transgressed both politically and militarily.

He said that after investing a large portion of its financial resources for decades to finance the defence sector in the Soviet Union and elsewhere, Moscow’s use of Iranian weapons is a recognition of its failure.

223 Iranian drones have been destroyed by Ukrainian military since mid-September, according to reports.
