Today, on Wednesday, the European Union declared that it has “sufficient evidence” to impose sanctions on Iran in connection with the sale of drones to Russia (Drones).
And in a piece earlier last week, the British newspaper “The Guardian” thought that Russia’s growing reliance on Iranian drones, “Shahid -136,” reflected both strength and weakness at once, noting that Moscow’s employment of Iranian drones was a result of its lack of guided missiles.
The newspaper noted that the witnesses -136 aircraft made their first appearance in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia last September. Although it was thought to be a Kamikazi drone, due to its 50 kg weight, it is more appropriate to think of them as small cruise missiles with a relatively low destructive capacity.
