The Nigerian army declares the end of its training to combat terrorism and create a peaceful atmosphere in the country

In order to address security concerns around the nation, Nigerian Army Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Farouk Yahya ordered three exercises today, Tuesday, October 18, 2022. The exercises include static water exercises, golden dawn exercises, and perpetual peace exercises.
Through these drills, the nation’s security issues in the south, southeast, southwest, and centre of the north are meant to be simultaneously addressed.

The COAS made reference to the exercises taking place in the sixth sector of the AHOAADA’s headquarters in Rivers State, noting that they were specifically designed to prepare participants for the security issues peculiar to their areas of responsibility in those regions.

The commander of the army indicated that the exercises included group operations with other services and security agencies, including the Nigerian, Navy, Air Force, Nigerian police forces, the Nigerian Ministry of State Services, Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps.
The opportunity to put their own capabilities to bear on the activities would be given to them by the synergy between services and agencies, he continued.

Each drill, according to Major General Yahya, will deal with problems that are exclusive to its domain.
He said, “The matter of stealing oil will be dealt with here from other jobs.
The Anti -Terrorism Committee has also expressed its optimism that by the end of the exercises, it will be possible to create a more peaceful and harmonious atmosphere to celebrate Christmas and hold free elections.

However, he issued a warning, urging the forces to stay apolitical and to stay on course.
General Tond Akinsoby, the head of operations, had earlier explained the exercises and promised to use both motor and non-motor tactics to win the trust of law-abiding individuals.
He called for the cooperation of the public to achieve the final goals of exercises.

In welcoming his team, Al-Alam, Major General Gen. Olufemi Oluyede of the Nigerian Army’s Sixth Division stated that the division will be steadfast in upholding its mandate in order to achieve the goal of facilitating the proper conditions for social, economic, and development activities.

The Nigerian army announces the conclusion of its training to fight terrorism and foster peace in the nation.
