Cholera is spreading .. Lebanon will warn after increasing injuries

The cholera outbreak in Lebanon has intensified, according to Firas Al-Abyad, the caretaker government’s minister of health, who noted that the sickness was primarily on the territory of neighbouring Syria.
He verified that 5 deaths have been recorded as a result of the illness so far.

In a news conference, he further stated that the majority of patients are homeless, explaining that there has been an obvious rise in injuries among Lebanese citizens.
In addition to infected and mixed veggies, he disclosed that polluted water is one of the primary means of infection transmission.

He warned that the refining station in the cholera spread areas is idle, announcing the start of work to prepare a field hospital in Arsal, in addition to 8 field hospitals that are ready to be distributed with treatment supplies and vaccines.
According to the official news agency SANA, over the previous time Syria recorded 41 cholera-related deaths and more than 700 injuries.

According to the authorities, the absence of essential utilities like clean water or sanitary facilities where refugees congregate provides a breeding environment for the disease in Lebanon.
The disaster is made worse by the state’s inability to obtain the materials needed to maintain operations within ministries and public institutions, such as diesel fuel.
It is noteworthy that more than two million Syrian displaced people are in Lebanon, distributed over camps in the north and Bekaa.

In response to humanitarian difficulties, the Lebanese government has been working with UNICEF since 2012, or ever since Syrian refugees were forced to flee to Lebanon during the war.
The group made a contribution to the treatment of the wastewater network as well as to providing safe drinking water to Syrian refugees living in sporadic camps.

After more injuries, Lebanon will issue a warning that cholera is spreading.
