Ngolo Kanti, a midfielder for Chelsea, underwent knee surgery that will keep him away from the pitch for around four months, and the France national team announced his absence from the World Cup in Qatar.
Kanti (31 years old) underwent surgery after experiencing a setback in his recovery from the injury he sustained during the match in which Chelsea and Tottenham drew 2-2 on August 14.
Ngolo Kanti had surgery to replace his knee tendons, Chelsea stated in a statement on Tuesday.
It was mutually agreed that Ngolo should have surgery to address the issue after the midfielder met a doctor at the team to learn about his choices for the recovery process.
The statement explained: In the wake of successful surgery, Ngolo is expected to be absent for four months.
Kanti played in 53 games for France’s national team and helped the tournament win the World Cup Russia 2018 title.
