In order to make up for the time that indirect negotiations between Lebanon and Israel took to demarcate the maritime borders between the two sides, Lebanese President Michel Aoun expressed his hope that the excavation in “Block 9” in the economic zone in Lebanese waters would proceed quickly. This was revealed during his reception with a group from the French company “Total Energy,” which has a gas exploration concession in Block 9, today at the Presidential Palace.
According to the texts mentioned in the agreement with the Petroleum Sector Authority in Lebanon, which is consequently receiving data that is available during excavations, the delegation indicated that the drilling platform will arrive in Lebanon starting in 2023 to begin exploration and exploration.
Following the completion of the required administrative transactions and procedures, President Aoun briefed the delegation on the preparations made by “Total Energy” in Lebanon in anticipation of the start of excavation in “Block No. 9” in the pure economic zone in southern Lebanon. The members of the delegation expressed their happiness to work again in oil and gas exploration in Lebanon, to complement the work that “Total” has done in “Block No. 4”..
