According to Fiona Hill, one of the most prominent American observers of Russia and Putin who served as a counsellor to former President Donald Trump and rose to fame for her testimony in the first trial of his isolation, it has become almost certain that Vladimir Putin was behind Elon Mask’s recent efforts to mediate a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
But while Putin appears to double his strength in Ukraine, the conflict poses some real risks to his leadership.
Hill says he totally introduced himself to the war and that he can’t stand to appear to be a loser. His grasp is concealed from power if he starts to lose the support of the Russian elite.
“Putin is playing with the famous men giving them a feeling that they can play an important role but in reality, they are just direct messengers of messages from Vladimir Putin,” Hill told the Politico newspaper, noting that the billionaire owner of Tesla Company..
