The Kremlin: The investigation of “Nord Stream” prepared for the accusation of Russia

On Tuesday, the Kremlin slammed the ongoing global inquiry into the gas leaks from Nord Stream 1 and 2, which were built to carry Russian gas to Europe. Moscow said that the study was “organised” to support its claim that the leaks were the result of sabotage.
The probe is set up such that Russia is blamed, which is absurd, according to what we understand from the remarks in Germany, France, or Denmark, said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov to reporters.

Additionally, he stated, “Russia will not detonate two of its pipelines. We can only express our disappointment that the entire investigation is being conducted by a very small committee without the participation of Russia, a co-owner of the gas pipeline.
Despite not having the means to explore the scene, Russia has initiated an investigation into the bombs. The Russian investigators “perform their job,” according to Peskov.

Additionally, Moscow claimed that Western nations were responsible for the explosions that resulted in the gas leaks from the two gas pipes, which were dormant at the time but still contained the gas.
The bombings of the “Nord Stream” pipes in the Baltic Sea last month were allegedly caused by sabotage and an explosive device, according to German authorities, who confirmed similar early findings by Sweden.

However, the investigators were unable to define categorically the suspects or the party behind this sabotage, but some German officials assumed that Russia would be behind the bombings, according to what the Wall Street Journal quoted sources familiar with the investigation.
Moscow, however, refuted the prior claims and asserted that the blasts were a terrorist attack directed against Russian interests.

The fact that the first leaks occurred in international waters off the Danish island of Bornhol in the Baltic Sea, between southern Sweden and Poland, is remarkable. This area has long been regarded as one of the most intensively watched maritime locations in the world.

Since several months, “Nord Stream” has become the focal point of geopolitical tensions between the West and Moscow, particularly since it was cut off from European gas supplies in reaction to Western sanctions against it as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The fact that both lines still carry gas, even if the tubes they are connected to are temporarily out of operation, has many government officials, environmentalists, and climate experts around the world worried.
