Bibliotheca Alexandrina publishes new issue of Memory of Egypt magazine

CAIRO – 18 October 2022: The Bibliotheca Alexandrina has published issue no. 49 of the Memory of Egypt magazine, on the occasion of the centenary of the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb and the 200th anniversary of the deciphering of the Rosetta Stone.
The new issue’s introduction by Bibliotheca Alexandrina Ahmed Zayed remarked that the discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb 100 years ago was a significant event that had an impact on the world’s cultural and archaeological circles.

Zayed said that the Rosetta Stone’s deciphering had allowed us to delve deeply into ancient Egyptian culture.
The new edition featured images from the moment of the tomb’s discovery on November 4, 1922, as well as a special section with writings written by senior experts in the history of ancient Egypt. The publication of these images marks their debut.
In addition, the issue included two articles on the 200th anniversary of the deciphering of the Rosetta Stone.

The publication frequency of the Memory of Egypt magazine is significant.
