Schroeder is absent from the first Lakers matches in the new season

Due to thumb and finger surgery, the Los Angeles Lakers franchise in the American Basketball League has announced that German star Dennis Schroeder would miss the first team games of the new season against the defending champion Golden State Warriors on Tuesday evening (Wednesday early GMT).

A right thumb side ligament issue was successfully treated by surgery for Lakers star Dennis Schroeder.

” In its statement, the team stated that the player’s condition will be re -evaluated by the doctors within about three weeks, and that the developments will be announced on time.
Schroeder sustained the injury during the team’s preseason game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the healing process could cause him to miss more than ten games.

Schroeder joined the Lakers in July on a free transfer, but due to visa issues and his commitment to playing for the German national basketball team in the European Basketball Championship, he missed most of the preseason practise sessions.
The Lakers’ previous season ran from 2020 to 2021.
Tuesday night will mark the start of the US Basketball League’s new campaign. The Boston Celtics will host the Philadelphia 76ers, while the Lakers will visit the Warriors.

Schroeder is not there for the Lakers’ opening games of the new season.
