After Hong Kong and Huawei … a new dispute between Britain and China

Although British military personnel occasionally engage in training exercises with foreign militaries, any former pilots of China—which London referred to as “the first danger” to regional and international security—raise serious questions.
According to a representative for the British Ministry of Defense, “We take decisive actions to prohibit Chinese recruitment schemes to hunt for capabilities among current and former UK armed forces to train the Popular Liberation Army.”

British media reported that more than 30 previous pilots accepted offers exceeding 240,000 pounds ($ 273750) and that many of those who were recruited in their fifties and left the British Air Force recently.
According to reports, China has been implementing this plan since 2019, but it has recently intensified.

The British Ministry of Defense stated that it was “reviewing the use of secrecy contracts and non -disclosure agreements,” adding that all current and previous elements are subject to the official secrets law that prohibits employees working in the public sector in the United Kingdom.
“The new national security law will create additional measures to cope with modern security concerns, including this challenge,” the official continued.

Due to a number of sensitive topics, including Hong Kong and Huawei Giant Technology Group’s involvement in the introduction of the fifth generation Internet network in Britain, relations between London and Beijing deteriorated.

This month, British Intelligence Director Jeremy Fleming called on Western nations to take action in order to safeguard their principles and influence as he spoke in London about the growing Chinese technological hegemony, which “has become a bigger urgent challenge” for them.

Following Huawei and Hong Kong, there is now a fresh confrontation between Britain and China.
