Civilization coordination is the restoration of the second stage of the village of Hassan Fathi

The second stage of the village of Qurna for Hassan Fathi is being restored, and the second stage is to unite the homes and the development of Hassan Fathi’s house, as well as the development of the Khan area, according to engineer Mohamed Abu Saada, head of the National Civilization Coordination Authority.

The New Qurna Restoration and Revival Project, in collaboration with the UNESCO Office in Cairo and the Luxor Governorate, stems from the state’s interest and leadership in the revival of urban heritage, particularly the new Qurna project, to be tourist attractions for environmentally friendly architecture with a return on investment for the state, where the first phase of the revival project has been completed. Heritage buildings in the village, which include the mosque building, include the local church, the local school, and the local market.

On December 23, 2021, the village officially opened. The project involved using all of the restored buildings again, including the mosque, which was inaugurated along with the rituals under the direction of the Ministry of Awqaf. Other openings included the Culture Palace, which also had a library attached to it, the Khan, which served as a venue for establishing artists, and the use of bazaars to display traditional crafts in order to capitalise on the urban values in the village.

The repair of the new hamlet of Qurna, the stages the project went through, and the people’ involvement in the restoration effort are all the subject of a documentary film made by UNESCO. The film is shown on the official UNESCO website and the device page..

Restoration of the second stage of the Hassan Fathi village is accomplished through the cooperation of civilization.
