A 20 -year -old American court sentenced a Canadian accused of financing terrorists to Syria

According to the US Department of Justice, a federal court sentenced a Canadian prisoner to 20 years in prison on Monday for helping six North American terrorists join ISIS by coordinating and funding their travel to Syria.
The ministry said in a statement that Abdullah Ahmed Abdullah, 37, is a Canadian nationality, was convicted by a federal court in San Diego, California, “by providing money and individuals to support the violent terrorist activities of ISIS.


Between November 2013 and March 2014, three of Abdullah’s uncles lived in Edmonton, Canada, a fourth relative lives in Minneapolis in the north of the United States, and a fifth guy from Saudi Arabia, according to American media.
San Diego residents, to travel to Syria to join ISIS and fight in his ranks.

During his trial, the defendant admitted his guilt and admitted to carrying out an armed robbery at a jewellery store in Edmonton, using some of the looted items to pay for the six terrorists’ travel expenses.
The six terrorists were all slain in Syria, the ministry said.
The Canadian authorities arrested Abdullah in 2017 before receiving him to the United States in October 2019.

After his sweeping control over large areas in Iraq and Syria in 2014, where he announced the establishment of the “caliphate state”, ISIS was expelled from Iraq in 2017 and from Syria in 2019.
Early in July, the United States declared that an attack by a jet in Syria’s northwest had resulted in the death of Maher Al-Akal, the leader of ISIS there.
