7 reasons for Telecom Egypt’s 20 billion pounds in revenue in the first half of 2022

Telecom Egypt had good business results for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2022, with total consolidated sales of 20. 4 billion pounds, reflecting a 17 percent growth rate, and a net profit after taxes of 3. 8 billion pounds.

1- Total revenues increased by 17 percent compared to the same period last year, primarily due to 18 percent and 16 percent increases in retail and wholesale business unit revenues, respectively, as a result of increased revenues from data services, infrastructure rental, and international capacities.

2- The home and personal communications business unit increased by 20 percent over the previous year, accounting for 85 percent of the total revenue growth in the retail business units, owing to increases in data and voice services revenues of 22 and 13, respectively, supported by customer base and average revenue per customer growth.

3- Revenues of enterprise business units climbed by 13 when compared to the same quarter previous year, principally attributable to an increase in other sales related to a 42 increase in revenues of IT solutions services.

4- The operators business unit climbed by 15 percent compared to the same time last year, mainly to a growth in infrastructure income, which increased by 14 percent due to increasing demand for data services from other telecom operators.
5- The Foreign Customers and Networks business segment expanded by 28 percent compared to the same time last year, leading to 66 percent more international capacity sales and 53 percent more cable projects.

6- EBITDA climbed by 20 percent year on year, resulting in a profit margin of 40 percent, owing to greater margin income from data services and infrastructure leasing.
